Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Gatehouse Controller to oversee the entry and exit processes at our facility’s gatehouse. This vital role ensures smooth, secure, and efficient management of all inbound and outbound traffic, including trucks, visitors, and contractors. The Gatehouse Controller acts as the first point of contact for site operations, maintaining accurate records and facilitating communication across teams. Responsibilities
- Operate barrier/gate systems, CCTV monitors, and access control software, ensure that the site is secure out of normal operating hours, monitor and record exiting Eastbrook Vehicles.
- Check driver ID, delivery paperwork, and appointment booking, liase with the warehouse to arrange unloading location in the yard.
- Inspect bags and vehicles leaving site, as per site security procedures.
- Sign in/out visitors, contractors, and staff, issue PPE to visitors if required.
- Maintain gate log/register of all vehicle and personnel movements.
- Report suspicious activity, safety hazards, or breaches to management.
- Answer phone/radio queries from warehouse and other staff.
- Enforce PPE and site safety rules for all entrants
Skills
- Previous experience in security, gatehouse, or front-of-house role (warehouse/logistics preferred)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stay alert and vigilant during shift work
- Basic computer literacy (visitor management/logging systems)
- Physically able to stand, walk, and inspect vehicles/bags regularly
- Own reliable transport (if shift times fall outside public transport hours)
- Shift-based – 4 on 4 off rotation including weekends, Christmas etc.
- Mix of outdoor gate duty and indoor gatehouse/reception work
Pay: £30,800.00 per year
