Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Carpenter to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of carpentry techniques and be able to work effectively on various projects. This role requires a commitment to quality craftsmanship and attention to detail, ensuring that all work meets the highest standards.
Duties
- Fabricate, assemble, and install structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, and other materials.
- Perform joinery tasks, ensuring precise cuts and fittings for various components.
- Carry out first fix tasks, including cut roofs, stud walling, joisting and sheathing.
- Execute insulation work as required for specific projects.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete tasks.
- Conduct heavy lifting as necessary during the construction process.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors to ensure project timelines are met.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Carpenter or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to carpentry.
- Knowledge of electrical systems is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong skills in first and second fix.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with carpentry work.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
- A valid driving licence may be required for travel between job sites.
