Working hours
We are looking for support workers to cover our night shifts, of 8:30pm - 8:30am. This will be done on a rota basis, of 4 on, 4 off.
Wages £124.07 per shift, this is a sleeping night shift, however if required to assist residents waking hours are compensated for.
Job Description
Encompass, Complex needs supported accommodation, provides support to those who have been homeless, both on a short and long term basis and have struggled to hold down their own tenancies for numerous reasons. This role will work alongside paid staff and volunteers to provide 24/7 coverage on site.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is passionate, caring, empathetic, motivated and dedicated to join our team, You will need to offer a person centred non judgemental approach to our residents.
The purpose of the role is to work as part of the team to promote a safe, calm and constructive environment. The role means working along side colleagues to support vulnerable adults that may present with challenging behaviour, addiction, and mental health needs, responding to any queries or issues, and will be a key part of ensuring the house runs smoothly.
The successful individual will build positive working relationships with the residents, being part of the team who will empower and support them to move on, and will work within house policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have good communication skills and be passionate about helping those who have experienced homelessness. You will work with empathy but adhere to the policies and procedures of the project. You must also possess IT skills, to update the database, send emails, and to help residents with benefits and paperwork.
Previous experience in a health/social care or community work setting is preferable although not necessary. What is necessary is the ability to be dedicated to the project and individuals we support and transferable skills to bring to the role. Training will be provided if necessary.

Main Responsibilities t
- To address all issues that arise
- To maintain security of the project (e.g. answering doors, checking on site, locking up etc).
- To manage and enforce house rules (full induction will be given)
- To monitor project activity, respond to emergencies and maintain appropriate records (e.g. incident reports)
- To address and report maintenance issues to day staff
- To ensure health and safety monitoring is carried out and recorded accurately
- To carry out health and safety checks in line with organisation requirements
- To ensure good standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained at all times
- To ensure the project is cleaned and tided as per the rota
- To ensure all records are maintained (e.g. register, H&S, bed allocations)
- To complete Housing Management tasks left by daytime staff
- To collect service charges and rent
- Arrange out of hours cover/emergency maintenance as applicable

o Be able to challenge in an assertive, yet empathetic way any unacceptable behaviour, ensuring the integrity of the project and safety of other clients
