Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Nursery cook. This role involves preparing and serving of food within a nursery kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for homemade food, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. This position offers valuable experience in food preparation for children under five.
Responsibilities
- Assist in food preparation and cooking activities, ensuring dishes meet quality standards.
- Support the organisation and cleanliness of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Prepare ingredients and create healthy meals in line with menu specifications.
- Serve food to children efficiently and courteously, takin g note of any allergies or dietary requirements.
- Maintain stock levels and notify management of supplies needed for smooth kitchen operations.
- Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure timely delivery of meals.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or within a restaurant environment is desirable.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
- Experience in meal preparation, serving, or kitchen operations is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly attitude towards team members.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different roles within the kitchen setting.

Pay: £15.00-£16.00 per hour
