Overview
To provide a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the medical practice, ensuring that clinical and non-clinical areas are cleaned to infection control standards, creating a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday 5:30pm-7:30pm (10 hours per week)
Responsibilities
- Cleaning Consultation and treatment rooms
- Cleaning Waiting areas and reception
- Cleaning Staff offices and communal areas
- Cleaning Toilets and washrooms
- Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed in line with infection prevention and control procedures.
- Use appropriate cleaning products, equipment, and PPE as instructed.
- Empty bins and safely dispose of general and clinical waste, following practice protocols.
- Replenish supplies such as soap, hand towels, and toilet paper.
- Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or concerns to the Practice Manager.
- Follow colour-coding and cross-contamination prevention procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding patients, staff, and practice information.
- Undertake deep cleaning tasks as required (e.g., carpet cleaning, high-level dusting).
- Comply with Health & Safety regulations at all times, including safe storage of cleaning materials.
Experience
- Previous experience in a cleaning role is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong communication skills in English are required for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- A valid driving licence is preferred.
- Customer service experience is beneficial, as the role involves engaging with clients directly.
