Sports Coach
School of Play MCR | £12.75–£25.50 per hour | Part-Time | Term-Time & School Holidays

School of Play MCR is looking for enthusiastic, reliable and passionate Sports Coaches to join our growing team.
You’ll deliver fun, engaging and inclusive sports sessions across schools and our holiday programmes, helping children develop their skills, confidence and enjoyment of physical activity.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality sports sessions to children across a range of ages and abilities.
Sports may include:
- Football
- Tag Rugby
- Dodgeball
- Multi-Sports
- And other sports and activities
You’ll be expected to create an energetic and positive environment where every child feels included, supported and encouraged to participate.
What You'll Be Doing
- Delivering engaging sports sessions in schools and holiday programmes
- Planning and adapting activities to suit different ages and abilities
- Managing groups of children confidently and positively
- Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children
- Following safeguarding procedures and completing dynamic risk assessments
- Building positive relationships with children and schools
- Representing School of Play MCR professionally
- Supporting our values of Safety First, Delivering with Passion, Working Together and Thinking Differently
Hours
Term-Time: 4–16 hours per week
Monday–Friday across:
- Lunchtime: 12:00pm–2:00pm
- After School: 3:00pm–4:30pm
Additional hours may be available depending on your availability and our current programme.
School Holidays: 40+ hours per week available
Holiday work is optional, but there are significant opportunities to increase your hours during our holiday programmes.
Pay
£12.75–£25.50 per hour
Pay varies depending on experience, qualifications, session type and performance.
There are also opportunities to take on additional responsibilities and progress within the company.
What We're Looking For
We’re looking for people who are:
- Qualified Level 1 Sports Coaches or equivalent
- Have 2+ years' coaching experience
- Passionate about sport and physical activity
- Experienced or confident working with children
- Reliable, punctual and professional
- Energetic and enthusiastic
- Patient, resilient and adaptable
- Confident managing groups of children
- Able to communicate effectively with children, parents and colleagues
- Committed to safeguarding and children's wellbeing
A specialist qualification in one particular sport is welcome — you don't need to be an expert in every sport.
