Position Overview:
We are seeking an accountant to join our team. Who will manage the day-to-day accounting activities of the UK entity and maintain complete, accurate, and up-to-date financial records. The role covers the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, month-end closing, VAT compliance, management reporting, and statutory accounting requirements. The accountant will independently manage the accounting activities of the UK entity, with guidance, oversight, and support from the Head Office Finance Team.
Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Perform bank, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly journals, accruals, prepayments, provisions, depreciation, and other accounting adjustments.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing process.
- Prepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements.
- Support corporation tax compliance and provide required information to external tax advisors.
- Prepare audit schedules and coordinate with external auditors.
- Monitor cash balances, bank transactions, and working capital.
- Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
- Ensure all accounting records are properly documented and supported.
- Maintain compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and issues independently.
- Ensure all statutory, tax, and financial reporting deadlines are met.
- Liaise with management, auditors, tax advisors, banks, suppliers, customers, and other relevant parties.
- Coordinate with the Head Office Finance Team on reporting, consolidation, accounting policies, controls, and other finance matters.
- Provide required financial information and reporting to Head Office within agreed deadlines.
- Implement Head Office accounting policies, procedures, and reporting requirements.
- Perform other accounting and finance activities as required by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA, AAT, or equivalent is preferred.
- Good knowledge of UK accounting principles, VAT, and HMRC requirements.
- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, or similar.
- Good Microsoft Excel skills.
Experience:
- 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
Pay: £40,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
