What you'll be doing
The Senior Interface Engineer is responsible for supporting and maintaining critical interfaces between real-time operational systems and business applications, ensuring high levels of system availability, reliability, and performance. The role provides technical expertise, supports incident resolution, and works collaboratively with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders to maintain business continuity.
Responsible for the operation, maintenance, and integrity of the CSS Interfaces suite, ensuring reliable 24/7 service.
Provide technical support to Operational Support Engineers and key business stakeholders.
Coordinate with Cyber Security teams to ensure interface-related changes, developments, and vulnerabilities are managed effectively.
Support Control Centre operations, including fault resolution, maintenance activities, and system enhancements.
Maintain business-critical systems, including system monitoring, upgrades, repairs, access control, and documentation.
Ensure interface solutions comply with company policies, procedures, and technical standards.
Develop and maintain operational procedures, backup plans, and supporting documentation.
Monitor system performance and implement proactive measures to improve reliability.
Liaise with internal customers and third-party support providers to resolve issues and support service delivery.
Contribute to reporting and data analysis activities using system data, scripts, and reporting tools.
Support user training and knowledge sharing across the business.
What you'll bring
Experience supporting real-time operational systems and system interfaces.
Knowledge of interface technologies, system integration, and cyber security considerations.
Understanding of control room operations and electricity network environments.
Experience working with suppliers, contractors, and external service providers.
Knowledge of network management systems and operational business processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage priorities and deliver accurate, timely outcomes.
Commitment to safe working practices and continuous improvement.
As a minimum, you will demonstrate:
HNC/HND in Engineering or equivalent relevant experience.
Strong IT systems knowledge.
Good understanding of system interfaces and integrations.
Proven experience in a relevant technical or operational support environment.
