Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 2 Plant Lorry Driver to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating a Class 2 heavy goods vehicle, specifically designed for transporting plant equipment and materials to various sites. Your expertise in commercial driving, combined with your ability to handle flatbed loads, will ensure timely and secure deliveries. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class 2 heavy goods vehicle, focusing on plant and construction equipment transportation
- Load and unload flatbed trucks with precision, ensuring secure placement of all items
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to maintain safety standards
- Plan efficient delivery routes to meet deadlines while adhering to legal driving hours and regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site personnel regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including logs, manifests, and delivery notes
- Follow all health and safety protocols during loading, transit, and unloading processes
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) driving license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with delivery or plant equipment transportation
- Familiarity with flatbed loading techniques and securing loads for safe transit
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and compliance standards for commercial vehicles
- Ability to operate heavy machinery or plant equipment is a plus but not mandatory
- Excellent communication skills and a professional attitude on the road
- Flexibility to work varied shifts and adapt to changing schedules
