This is so much more than a reception job.
We’re looking for a calm, capable, mature individual who can keep the wheels turning smoothly day-to-day while staying one step ahead of potential challenges. You’ll be the first face people see—and the go-to person for keeping our salon organised, efficient, and welcoming.
If you’re someone with strong problem-solving instincts, peripheral awareness, and a natural flair for technology and logistics, this could be your perfect next step.
You’ll work closely with our Salon Manager and Business Manager as a key part of the management team, supporting both the team and our clients with confidence and care.
It takes a while to train for this job so we're looking for someone who is committed for a decent amount of time. You need to be available all year (no term-time options). The days will be mostly fixed, with some additional cover required when the Manager is away.
What You’ll Bring:
- Strong Apple Mac skills – confident using Microsoft Word, Excel, and navigating the Mac OS
- A problem-solving mindset – you're someone who spots issues early and can think ahead to find smooth solutions. The light bulb isn't working, so you change it, sort of thing.
- Strong social media knowledge and skills
- Scheduling and time management skills – you love a plan, keep things on track, and know how to prioritise
- Comfort with numbers – solid maths skills to handle bookings, reporting, and general front-of-house logistics
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – able to interact professionally at all levels
- Previous receptionist or customer service experience
- Highly organised with a sharp eye for detail – able to multitask and stay methodical under pressure
- A genuine team player who also shines working independently
- Ideally, experience in a hair or beauty environment
- Familiarity with online booking systems
- Strong and accurate writing skills
- Well presented, friendly, with a warm sense of humour
- Kind, considerate and emotionally intelligent
The Role:
- Part-time (32 days per week) but flexible to cover other staff members' holidays
- Mostly fixed shifts
- Some flexibility is required to cover team holidays
- You'll be the central hub for team coordination and client care
- A fantastic opportunity for someone looking to grow their management experience in a nurturing, stylish, and fast-paced setting
If you're someone who brings clarity to chaos, thrives on making things run like clockwork, and loves working in a creative environment — we’d love to hear from you.
