Job Information
To undertake the maintenance and repair of the Electrical and Mechanical services to a PFI contract for 7 secondary schools across Hertfordshire, Luton and Reading.
Main Duties
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and complete the appropriate paperwork and reports.
Carry out monthly EML and annual EML tests within the contractual time for statutory, routine and mandatory ppm's.
Carry out remedials to EML's following Tests
Carry out replacements of lighting including high level.
- Carry out Reactive and emergency breakdown tasks and complete the associated paperwork.
Support with other general maintenance tasks where required.
Show initiative to supporting the team where required in other areas
- Be on a call out rota at least once per month to provide the client with full out of hours cover.
- Assist other team members when required or as directed from the Engineering Supervisor / Contract Manager.
- Carry out the collection of data from the data loggers at the schools which hold the temperature and co2 records and send to to helpdesk before the deadline.
Support the team with identifying what tasks are school damage and what tasks are wear and tear.
Complete damage forms for the helpdesk in a quick manner
- Make regular updates to the helpdesk team on reactive jobs and finish within SLA to minimise fine
- Ensure that all tasks are completed within the contractual time scales.
- Proactively reduce energy consumption on site.
- Supervision of visiting sub-contractors with regards to standard of work and Health and Safety.
- Adopt a flexible attitude in relation to assisting on other properties within the portfolio.
- Support with lifecycle planned works delegated throughout the year
- All duties carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- To understand and complete all work related documentation accurately and on time
- To carry out work in a safe and diligent manner
- To comply with all Health and Safety policies and procedures
- To attend and fully participate in training and appraisal activities as required
- To undertake additional duties in line with capabilities as required
Attend team meetings and work with the Engineering Superivisor, other engineers, helpdesk and Contract Manager
What we are looking for
- Qualified to City & Guilds or equivalent in relevant disciplines to role
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Qualifiications
- Experience of maintenance, testing & fault finding on a variety of equipment
- Including, boiler plant, ventilation, pumps, generators, switchgear, cables,
- Batteries, small power and lighting (where applicable)
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
- Strong customer care focus.
- Good communication skills.
- Able to anticipate and/or diagnose and repair faults
- Capable of completing essential paperwork in accurate and timely manner.
