About the Role
A well-established, family-run tree surgery company is looking for an experienced, reliable and hardworking Groundsman to join our team on a self-employed basis.
We are looking for someone who is punctual, confident and hardworking, with a positive “can-do” attitude, smart appearance and professional approach.
Experience in a similar arboricultural role is essential.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of general Groundsman duties, including:
- Assisting the tree climber
- Setting up and maintaining safe work sites
- Loading and unloading vehicles
- Cutting and chipping brushwood
- Hedge trimming
- Maintaining and caring for tools and equipment
- Keeping work areas clean, safe and organised
- Driving company vehicles when required
- Working effectively as part of a professional team
Essential Requirements
- Clean, full driving licence – essential
- Previous experience as a Groundsman or in a similar arboricultural role
- Excellent timekeeping and reliability
- Good communication skills
- Strong teamwork skills
- A positive, professional attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Appropriate PPE
- Genuine interest in a career in arboriculture
Ability to tow a trailer is highly desirable and would be an advantage, although not essential.
Qualifications
NPTC CS30 Chainsaw qualification is preferred, although we are happy to discuss the role with candidates who are currently studying towards it.
The following qualifications are also desirable:
- NPTC CS38
- NPTC CS39
- First Aid
Salary will be dependent on experience, qualifications and suitability for the role.
