Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Dinner Time Assistant (term time only, between the hours of 11am and 3pm - to be agreed) with childcare qualifications to support our organisation in providing a nurturing and engaging environment for children during mealtimes. This role involves supervising children, assisting with meal service, and ensuring a safe and positive experience for all children. The ideal candidate will have experience in childcare and hold a relevant level 2 or 3 childcare qualification.
Duties
- Supervise children during dinner times, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Assist with the preparation and serving of meals in accordance with dietary requirements and organisational policies
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities to promote social interaction and enjoyment
- Maintain a clean and organised dining area before, during, and after meals
- Support children with behavioural guidance and positive reinforcement strategies
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure smooth mealtime routines
- Occasionally assist with childcare duties outside of mealtimes, including light supervision or organising activities
Requirements
- recognised childcare qualification (level 2 or 3)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with children and team members
- Compassionate, patient, and attentive attitude towards children's needs
