Kitchen Assistant – Care Home
We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, and caring Kitchen Assistant to join our friendly team in a welcoming care home. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Chef and kitchen team with the preparation of meals and snacks.
- Support with food preparation, meal plating, and serving.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
- Ensure all food safety and health & safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries.
- Help maintain accurate cleaning schedules and kitchen records.
- Support catering requirements for special events and functions when needed.
About You
- Previous experience in a kitchen, catering, or care environment is desirable but not essential, as full training can be provided.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safe food handling practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.
- A positive attitude with excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Good attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
- A genuine interest in supporting the wellbeing of older people.
