Automatic Door Engineer
East & North Manchester (field-based)
£18-22 per hour (full time permanent contract + overtime)
Webber Hughes are exclusively recruiting for an experienced Automatic Door Engineer to join a growing national business specialising in automatic and manual doors, gates, barriers, and shutters.
Headquartered in Scotland with offices nationally this is an excellent opportunity for a skilled field-based engineer looking to join a forward-thinking company at the forefront of automatic door technology. The successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of 2 years’ industry experience and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality service.
The Company
Our client is a well established provider of Automatic and Industrial Door solutions. With locations across the UK the company is a market leader in its field. The company keen focus on quality and superior customer services. A strong focus on their people providing ongoing training and development across workforce.
The Role
This is a varied and fast paced role covering the North of England, involving a combination of:
- Installation of automatic door systems
- Planned preventative maintenance
- Reactive repairs and emergency call-outs
- Work schedules for installations and maintenance are typically issued weekly, with emergency call-outs allocated as required on a daily basis.
The workload is split approximately as follows:
- 70% Automatic Doors
- 20% Automatic Gates
- 10% Industrial Doors/Shutters
The role involves both indoor and outdoor work across a wide range of commercial and industrial sites.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm - Paid door to door
Call out rota : 1 week in 9
Double Time : After 8pm on weekdays and weekends
The Person
The ideal candidate will be technically capable, reliable, and motivated, with the ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a close-knit engineering team.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has 2 years’ field-based experience within the automatic door industry
- Possesses a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Demonstrates a proactive “can-do” approach
- Is keen to stay up to date with the latest industry technologies
- Can deliver excellent customer service and represent the business professionally
