Overview

Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food production and service.
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards.
- Oversee food safety practices, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
- Manage food inventory, order supplies, and control waste to optimise kitchen operations.
- Assist in menu planning, development of new recipes, and presentation of dishes to enhance customer experience.
- Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation to maintain consistency.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment centred on professional growth.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with hygiene standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a culinary or restaurant environment with a strong background in food preparation and cooking.
- Supervising experience within a busy kitchen setting is highly desirable.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage a team effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and management.
- Experience in menu development, food production, and hospitality service is preferred.
