Barra Castle Farmshop is looking for a talented and enthusiastic person to join our kitchen team for the summer season. You will be working alongside our Head Chef in our busy and growing café, set in the beautiful Aberdeenshire countryside near Oldmeldrum.

The Role
Working closely with the Head Chef, you'll play an important role in delivering high-quality food and maintaining the smooth day-to-day running of the kitchen.
You'll help prepare and serve dishes to a consistently high standard while contributing to the creative and welcoming food offering that Barra Castle Farmshop is becoming known for.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily kitchen preparation and service
- Prepare and cook dishes to specification
- Support the delivery of seasonal menus and daily specials
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness
- Assist with stock rotation and organisation
- Help minimise waste and ensure efficient use of ingredients
- Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen and front-of-house teams
- Maintain consistency, quality and presentation standards
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working in a professional kitchen
- Enjoys working with fresh ingredients and seasonal produce
- Is reliable, organised and hard-working
- Remains calm and positive during busy services
- Has a good eye for presentation and attention to detail
- Works well as part of a team
- Is eager to learn and develop their skills
- Takes pride in producing quality food
Ideal Background
Experience in a café, restaurant, hotel, bistro, gastro pub or similar environment is welcome.
