Post No. SSAC0076 - Safeguarding Support Officer - Adults
Newport City Council is seeking a motivated and organised individual to join the Safeguarding Team as a Safeguarding Support Officer. The post offers an opportunity to work within Social Services, providing essential support to the safeguarding Team.
The role focuses on coordination, administration and quality assurance processes. The postholder will help ensure work is timely, well organised, and compliant. This includes supporting documentation, meetings, information gathering and audit activity as part of day-to-day work.
Working as part of the team, the postholder will support professionals across the service and work closely with partner agencies. The role includes coordinating work where required, including multi-agency meetings and related processes, ensuring effective communication, information sharing and follow-up of actions.
This is a key role in supporting the effective delivery of work and ensuring that processes are coordinated, proportionate and responsive.
Key Responsibilities:
Support processes and activity across the service- Prepare and maintain documentation and records in line with policy and legislation
- Coordinate meetings, including multi-agency discussions and safeguarding processes
- Support audits, inspections and quality assurance activity
- Respond to queries and support day-to-day work
- Liaise with partner agencies to support effective outcomes
What We’re Looking For:
You will have strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing demands and work effectively within a busy environment. You will be confident working with sensitive information and have a good understanding of the importance of accurate record-keeping, confidentiality and information governance.
