Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe delivery. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage inventory effectively. The Delivery Driver will play a crucial role in maintaining the flow of operations within our warehouse and distribution network.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, ensuring compliance with all traffic regulations and safety standards.
- Load and unload products, utilizing equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes when necessary.
- Manage inventory during deliveries, including picking, packing, and shipping items accurately.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries using RF scanners or warehouse management systems like AS400.
- Conduct routine inspections of delivery vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to coordinate order fulfillment and ensure timely dispatch of goods.
- Adhere to OSHA regulations and company policies regarding safety and materials handling.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any questions or concerns from clients.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution or delivery driving is preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory management practices and warehouse operations.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and reach trucks safely.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Experience with order picking, packing, shipping & receiving processes.
- Ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) regularly throughout the workday.
- Previous experience as a warehouse supervisor or in a similar role is a plus.
- Knowledge of packaging standards and materials handling best practices is beneficial.
