We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Apprentice General Farm Worker to join our busy family-run farm in Drayton, just outside Norwich.
Our business is primarily focused on game bird rearing, alongside a small herd of cattle, offering an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in a unique and varied agricultural setting.
This apprenticeship is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, has a keen interest in farming and animal welfare, and is looking to build a long-term career in agriculture.
Duties will include:
- Daily care and management of game birds.
- Feeding, watering and monitoring bird health.
- Assisting with the care of our cattle herd.
- Cleaning and maintaining livestock housing and equipment.
- General farm maintenance, including fencing and repairs.
- Operating farm machinery and equipment (full training provided where appropriate).
- Assisting with seasonal farm tasks.
What we're looking for:
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Good timekeeping and reliability.
- Enjoys practical, outdoor work in all weather.
- Able to work as part of a small team.
- A genuine interest in agriculture, livestock or game management.
- Due to our rural location and limited public transport, applicants must have reliable transport to and from the farm. A full UK driving licence is desirable and will be required as the apprenticeship progresses.
