Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and professional Area Manager to oversee our licensed venue portfolio across Birmingham and the wider West Midlands.
Location
Primarily based at KBG Security Solutions Head Office, West Bromwich, with regular travel to sites across the west midlands and more.
Salary
£29,000 per annum

Role Overview
As Area Manager for Birmingham and the West Midlands, you will be responsible for overseeing security operations across multiple licensed venues and client sites. You will ensure sites are staffed correctly, client expectations are met, compliance standards are maintained, and operational issues are resolved professionally and efficiently.
This is a hands-on management position requiring strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage both clients and security personnel effectively.
The successful candidate will work primarily from our West Bromwich Head Office whilst maintaining a visible presence across operational sites.
Due to the nature of our business and the venues we support, working Saturday evenings is a mandatory requirement of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate Door Supervisors across multiple venues and contracts
- Prepare, manage and monitor staff rotas using internal systems
- Ensure all sites are adequately staffed and operational requirements are met
- Conduct venue visits, audits and quality assurance inspections
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and venue management
- Respond to incidents, complaints and operational issues as required
- Investigate disciplinary, conduct and performance matters
- Manage staff absence, lateness and welfare concerns
- Ensure company policies, procedures and client instructions are followed
- Complete operational reports and maintain accurate records
- Support recruitment, onboarding and staff development activities
- Work closely with the Operations Team to maintain service standards
- Attend weekly planning, compliance and operational meetings
- Assist with emergency cover and operational support when required
Essential Requirements
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence
- Minimum of 2 years' supervisory or management experience within the security industry
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution abilities
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Access to a reliable vehicle
- Based in or within reasonable commuting distance of Birmingham/West Bromwich
- Comfortable working from Head Office and travelling to operational sites
- Must be available to work Saturday evenings on a regular basis
Desirable Requirements
- Experience managing multiple sites or contracts
- Experience within licensed venues, nightlife or hospitality security
- Knowledge of staff scheduling and workforce management systems
- Experience conducting audits and compliance checks
