Job Description: Ground Maintenance Operative
Location: Basingstoke and surrounding Counties
Contract: Full Time, Permanent (5 out of 7 days, 40 hours per week)
Salary: --------per annum, plus overtime as and when required
Holiday Entitlement: 20 days + 8 Bank Holidays paid annual leave
Start Date: TBC
Requirements: This role involves some Weekend work and multi-site mobility therefore, you must be flexible and hold a full, clean UK Driving Licence

Larkstel Ltd is a fully established Grounds Maintenance company specializing in fine turf and sports maintenance, with over 20 years’ experience. We deliver one off jobs to 5-year Contracts for Schools, Sports Clubs and Associations, Parish Councils and commercial sites, currently covering sites in Hampshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire and Surrey.
The Role
The Grounds Maintenance Operative will report directly to and work closely with the Managing Directors. The role is based in Basingstoke, but you will be required to work in various other locations within the surrounding Counties. Transport will be provided from our central depot.
The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking various tasks to assist with the maintenance of multi-site outdoor sports facilities and routinely multi-site litter bin rounds (company vehicle supplied). A high level of workmanship is required, covering all aspects of Ground Maintenance including:
· Marking out of sports pitches
· Preparing, cutting, rolling and marking out Cricket wickets
· End of season renovations
· Cutting of fine sports turf
· Cutting of general grass areas, strimming and hedge cutting
· Maintenance of general areas around different sites, such as paths and car parks including litter picking and glass/safety checks
· Taking personal responsibility for operating in a safe and legally compliant manner, ensuring PPE is worn and Health and Safety is adhered to at all times.
Qualifications / Skills Required
Essential:
· Must have the right to Legally live and work in the UK
· Experience working in a Similar role
· Full, clean UK Driving Licence
· Attend meetings and Training Courses when required
· Excellent team working and communications skills
Desirable:
· Good working knowledge of Grounds Maintenance
· NVQ in horticulture or similar
· Pa1 & Pa2 Pesticides Certificate
· Awareness of Health and Safety Legislation and Manual Handling Certificate
· Trailer / Towing experience
· Machinery competence
