The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Engineer to join our North West Engineering Team, based from our Chorley or Carlisle office. This opportunity is aimed at motivated individuals looking to start a career in Civil Engineering. We welcome applications from college leavers who have completed A-Levels or T-Levels and are keen to progress through a Degree Apprenticeship programme, as well as candidates seeking a more traditional trainee route, combining practical site experience with part-time study towards an HNC qualification. Whichever pathway you follow, you will gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced engineers while developing the technical knowledge and professional skills needed for a successful career in the civil engineering industry.
What we are looking for

A genuine interest in Civil Engineering and a desire to build a long-term career within the industry.

Motivated, enthusiastic, and willing to learn through a combination of practical site experience and academic study.

Able to meet the minimum academic entry requirements for the chosen development pathway, whether that is an HNC or Degree Apprenticeship programme in Civil Engineering.

Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside colleagues, clients, and subcontractors.

Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.

Willingness to work in a site-based environment and travel to project locations as required.

A full UK driving licence as this is a site-based role.

Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications, with a willingness to develop digital and engineering software skills.

Committed to maintaining high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance.

Reliable, organised, and able to manage competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
