Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vans and commercial vehicles to transport packages across designated routes
- Plan efficient delivery routes to maximize productivity and meet delivery deadlines
- Load and unload goods, often involving heavy lifting, ensuring items are secured properly for transit
- Communicate clearly with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered on routes
- Verify delivery details with recipients, obtain signatures when required, and handle any customer inquiries professionally
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to maintain safety standards and report any maintenance needs promptly
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle condition throughout each shift
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or courier, with a strong track record of safe driving and punctuality
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience driving vans or larger commercial vehicles preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with loading and unloading packages
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
- Warehouse experience is a plus, especially familiarity with inventory handling and logistics processes
- Knowledge of local traffic laws and navigation tools to ensure efficient route planning
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude to deliver outstanding service every day
