Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced chef to join our small team. As a vital part of our kitchen operations, the Sous Chef will assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen activities, supervising staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing all kitchen operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including cooks and food preparation assistants, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, maintaining consistency with recipes and presentation standards.
- Monitor food production processes to ensure quality control and adherence to food safety regulations.
- Organise and oversee food service during busy periods, ensuring timely delivery of orders.
- Support in training new staff members on kitchen procedures, safety standards, and culinary techniques.
- Order supplies as needed, and minimise waste.
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen environment.
- A passion for steak &/ or Spanish style dishes a positive
- Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management.
- Experience working in hospitality or restaurant settings with an understanding of customer service principles.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with the capacity to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure during peak hours.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and other departments.
- Formal culinary qualifications or relevant certifications are desirable but not essential.

Pay: £14.50-£16.00 per hour
