Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Pre-school Manager to lead and oversee the daily operations of our early childhood education centre alongside our administration manager and deputy manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing staff, ensuring a nurturing environment for children, and maintaining high standards of childcare and education. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on young children's development while leading a passionate team.
The role is for 34 hours per week Term time only, with some additional remote working during the holidays
Duties
- Manage the day-to-day running of the pre-school, ensuring smooth operational procedures
- Lead, motivate, and supervise teaching and support staff to deliver high-quality childcare and early childhood education programmes
- Develop and implement educational activities that promote children's learning and development in line with curriculum standards
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and local authority requirements
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on their child's progress and well-being
- Organise staff rotas, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
- Oversee administrative tasks including record keeping, attendance monitoring, and reporting
- Ensure the environment is safe, clean, organised, colourful, stimulating, and welcoming for children
- This role does involve working directly with the children and being a key worker for a small group of children.
Skills
- Proven management experience within a childcare or nursery setting
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and guide a team
- Extensive knowledge of early childhood education principles and childcare regulations
- Experience working directly with children in a nursery or preschool environment
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to organise workload effectively whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills with the capacity to handle administrative responsibilities efficiently
- Valid driving licence is desirable for transportation or outreach activities

Pay: £24,000.00-£25,850.00 per year
