Responsibilities
- Sort and categorize recyclable materials accurately according to established guidelines
- Operate basic mechanical equipment such as conveyor belts, compactors, and sorting tools with safety and precision
- Assist with heavy lifting of recyclable items, ensuring proper lifting techniques to prevent injury
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas
- Conduct routine inspections of recycling equipment to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards
- Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
Requirements
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with machinery used in recycling or waste management environments is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the shift
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods during work hours
- Strong attention to detail for sorting recyclables accurately
- Excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude towards safety procedures
- Prior experience in recycling, waste management, or related manual labor roles is a plus but not mandatory
- Willingness to learn new processes and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
