Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Domestic Assistant to join our care home team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff alike. Duties
- Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks across all areas of the care home, including bedrooms, communal spaces, bathrooms, and kitchens.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment and supplies are used safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene by disinfecting surfaces, waste disposal, and laundry duties as required.
- Assist with organising supplies and stock levels to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Support residents with their personal hygiene needs when required, respecting their dignity and privacy.
- Report any maintenance issues or hazards promptly to management for resolution.
- Follow infection control procedures diligently to prevent the spread of illness within the care environment.
Skills
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial roles is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
- Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting is advantageous, demonstrating familiarity with hygiene standards in sensitive environments.
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail to ensure cleanliness standards are consistently met.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a busy environment.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and residents when necessary.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining a high level of professionalism at all times.
