The iconic 1950’s American Diner in Swadlincote had re-opened and we are on the hunt for a charismatic General Manager to bring the diner to life with your passion for serving a traditional American menu.
Wage £35,000 per annum plus equal share of tips & business profit share.
Working 4 days off a week - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday off every week.
It is essential that the ideal candidate isn’t shy as you will be required to work in an extremely open environment and will be required to wear a 50's style uniform.
What's expected from you as your role as General Manager:
- Running daily shifts
- Cashing up and ensuring the till balances
- Ensuring the daily opening and closing of the restaurant is completed to our high standard.
- Ordering of FOH stock
- Putting away deliveries whilst following stock rotation procedures.
- Dealing with any complaints (no one leaves unhappy)
- Hiring & training new staff members
- Implementing agreed steps of service with owners then maintaining these standards
- Maintain a 5 star food hygiene rating
- Maintaining the requirements by law to hold a property license to serve alcohol
- Build the business reputation with positive tripadvisor, google and direct reviews/feedback.
- Maintain a top 2 Tripadvisor position
- Achieve & maintain an overall 4.5 star Google Review score
- Controlling the labor cost on a day to day basis. (altering shifts where needed)
- Keeping cleaning rotas / due diligence paperwork up to date.
- Creating, promoting & managing events.
- Conducting disciplinary meetings / dismissals where necessary.
- Managing social media posts
- Dealing with any customer enquiries via social media, email, booking system etc.
- Creating weekly specials alongside the head chef to maintain guest interest & interaction
- Daily kitchen closing checks
As well as the standard customer service roles -
- Greeting customers.
- Taking food & drink orders
- Running food & drinks
- Taking cash / card payments
- Clearing tables
- Preparation of hot, soft & alcoholic drinks
- Cleaning and preparation of the restaurant at the end of each shift
- Cleaning the customer toilets on a rotational basis.
We operate Thursday afternoon & Friday - Sunday all day.
Approximate working hours -
Thursday- 1pm-10pm
Friday - 8.30am-10.30pm
Saturday - 8.30am-10.30pm
Sunday - 8.30am-10pm
Average working hours 45 per week.
