We are currently recruiting for an ITAD / MDS Warehouse Operative to join a busy warehouse operation in Cannock.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a good understanding of IT equipment, hardware and basic troubleshooting who enjoys practical, hands-on work in a warehouse environment.
Working within a dedicated IT processing area, you will be responsible for receiving, preparing, configuring, processing, recording, cleaning and dispatching IT equipment. A key part of the role involves ensuring equipment is correctly processed and that all data has been securely erased using approved third-party software before equipment is returned to customers or decommissioned.
Accuracy is extremely important. You will need to ensure equipment is processed to the correct specification, accurately recorded on internal systems and dispatched to the correct location within agreed customer deadlines.
The role is predominantly warehouse based and involves standing and moving around for most of the working day, as well as manual handling of IT equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure IT equipment in line with specific build requirements.
- Process laptops, desktops and other IT equipment accurately and efficiently.
- Carry out secure data erasure using approved third-party software.
- Navigate BIOS systems and carry out basic IT diagnostics.
- Identify and troubleshoot minor faults where possible.
- Assist with basic repairs and fault finding on IT equipment.
- Accurately enter equipment and unit information into internal systems.
- Maintain accurate records of stock movements and equipment locations.
- Ensure individual units can be easily identified and located within the warehouse.
- Check equipment carefully to ensure the correct specification and configuration.
- Ensure the correct equipment is allocated and dispatched to the correct customer or location.
- Clean IT equipment thoroughly while taking care not to damage units.
- Palletise equipment safely, securely and neatly.
- Prepare equipment for dispatch in accordance with customer requirements.
- Ensure dispatches are completed accurately and within agreed customer SLAs.
- Work efficiently to meet customer deadlines and service-level requirements.
- Communicate clearly with management and office-based teams regarding work requirements and progress.
- Liaise with other departments to ensure equipment is processed correctly.
- Follow customer-specific processes and contractual requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Assist other areas of the operation when required.
- Follow all warehouse, equipment-handling and health and safety procedures.

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience in a warehouse, IT warehouse, IT asset management, ITAD, hardware processing, technical support or similar environment.

The successful candidate will be required to:
- Stand and move around the warehouse for most of the shift.
- Manually handle IT equipment and stock.
- Handball equipment where required.
- Use appropriate lifting equipment.
- Palletise and prepare equipment for dispatch.

Monday to Friday
7:30am to 4:30pm
40 hours per week
The main working location is the Cannock area, and candidates should live within a reasonable commuting distance.
