The Property & Facilities team at Edinburgh Napier University is dedicated to delivering excellent service and experience for staff, students, and visitors across all campuses. From creating and maintaining physical spaces to ensuring the highest standards in safety, sustainability, and service, our team supports the University through effective facilities management.
The Conferences and Events team sit within this function to promote and coordinate seamless and memorable internal and external events and currently, we have an opportunity for an Events Coordinator to join us on a permanent basis, taking responsibility for sales, client liaison and the co-ordination of University services to support external and internal events.
The Role:
As Events Coordinator for our ambitious and supportive team, you will have a great opportunity to use your experience of conference, events & accommodation sales & coordination to make a significant and positive difference at Edinburgh Napier.
Your ability to source and close sales will be key here, as you undertake facility visits, meetings and negotiations with new and existing clients on all aspects of their events, to attract new and repeat business.
We are also a team that endorse open collaboration and new ways of doing things, so we fully encourage you to bring your ideas to the table. Perhaps you have experience of corporate events or wedding planning or that you can incorporate into this role. Or, if you have undertaken a similar role in events planning in a different sector, tell us what you can bring to Napier!
Most importantly, you will have the chance to let your passion for sales and events planning really shine through, as you represent the University at networking and industry peer events and conferences, to build a contact base of both clients and suppliers, managing these relationships on an ongoing basis.
Your experience of end-to-end event or project coordination will also see you becoming the main liaison with other internal support service departments as necessary, to fully coordinate events, while you manage the billing, invoicing and reporting of all internal and external bookings.

What we will need from you:

Higher Grade qualification (or equivalent) or relevant demonstrable experience
Demonstrated experience of conference, events & accommodation sales & coordination
Skilled sales closer with excellent negotiation skills
Ability to work well under pressure often to tight deadlines
Excellent IT skills
Flexibility to work occasionally outside core hours where necessary

Additional information:
Salary: Starting salary - £31,236 – £34,610 per annum (depending on experience, subject to annual pay increases until scale maximum of £37,694, as well as cost of living increases)
Contract: Permanent, Full Time – 35 hrs/wk, hybrid working with minimum 3 days on campus.
