Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Roofing Labourer to join our construction team. This role involves working on various roofing projects, assisting with the installation, repair, and maintenance of roofing systems. The successful candidate will be physically fit, safety-conscious, and eager to develop their skills within the construction industry. Prior experience in roofing or related trades is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience and work on diverse projects in a dynamic environment.
Duties
- Assisting with the preparation and organisation of roofing sites, including cleaning and preparation of work area
- Handling and manoeuvring roofing materials using hand tools and power tools
- Assisting with the installation of roofing materials such as liquid waterproofing coatings, timber and felt
- Supporting the team in cutting, shaping, and fitting materials according to project specifications
- Performing heavy lifting tasks to move materials and equipment safely around the site
- Assisting with the repair and maintenance of existing roofing structures
- Ensuring all work areas are kept clean and free from hazards in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Supporting specialised tasks such as waterproofing and fibre glassing
Experience
- Basic understanding of construction processes and safety procedures is preferred
- Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and roofing materials is advantageous but not mandatory
- Familiarity with schematics or technical drawings is a plus
- Previous experience in roofing or related trades such as general construction or heavy lifting roles will be considered an asset
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods
