The Role
We are seeking an IT Business Analyst to work closely with clients, stakeholders and our technical teams. The successful candidate will analyse business needs, translate those needs into clear technical requirements and support the design and implementation of IT solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with clients and internal stakeholders to identify, gather and analyse business and technical requirements.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications, non-functional requirements, user stories, use cases and acceptance criteria.
- Prepare business requirement documents, process maps, workflow diagrams and system documentation.
- Analyse existing business processes, systems and operational data to identify inefficiencies, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct gap analysis and recommend suitable technology-based solutions.
- Work closely with developers, testers and project managers throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings and requirements workshops to clarify business objectives and proposed system functionality.
- Support solution design by ensuring that proposed systems meet operational, performance, security and scalability requirements.
- Assist with user acceptance testing, requirements validation and the resolution of system issues.
- Use SQL, Power BI and Microsoft Excel to analyse data and produce dashboards, reports and performance insights.
- Maintain requirements and project documentation using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Support Agile project delivery, including sprint planning, backlog refinement and progress reviews.
- Monitor implemented solutions and recommend further improvements based on user feedback and performance data.
Essential Requirements
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Management, Business Analysis, Information Technology, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional, academic or project-based experience in business analysis, requirements gathering or process improvement.
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.
- Ability to produce process maps, user stories, functional specifications and requirements documentation.
- Working knowledge of SQL, Power BI and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable Skills
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, CRM systems or Azure DevOps.
- Experience with BPMN, dashboard development or data visualisation.
- Understanding of software testing and user acceptance testing.
- Knowledge of business intelligence, data analytics or digital transformation projects.
