Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Support senior chefs with food production, ensuring quality and consistency
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness within the kitchen
- Organise ingredients and supplies efficiently to facilitate smooth kitchen operations
- Supervise and manage small teams during service periods, ensuring tasks are completed effectively
- Contribute to menu development ideas and presentation of dishes
- Ensure all food served meets the company's quality standards and customer expectations
- Support in training junior kitchen staff and new team members as required
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a professional kitchen environment
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising or managing teams in a hospitality setting
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and front-of-house staff
