As a SEND Locality Manager, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for the delivery of high-quality Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services across a locality in Cheshire East. About the role:
As a SEND Locality Manager, you will provide leadership for the delivery of high-quality SEND services across your locality, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met and that children and young people receive the support they need to achieve positive outcomes. Working closely with families, schools and partner agencies, you will champion inclusive, child-centred practice and drive continuous service improvement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage the SEND Statutory Assessment Service.
- Ensure EHC processes are delivered in line with statutory requirements.
- Develop and support a high-performing team.
- Work collaboratively with families, schools and multi-agency partners.
- Drive service improvement, quality assurance and performance.
- Oversee SEND resources and funding within the locality.
- Promote positive outcomes and opportunities for children and young people with SEND.

About you:
We're looking for an experienced and collaborative leader with a strong understanding of SEND legislation and practice. You will have a proven track record of managing teams, working across partner organisations, and delivering high-quality services that improve outcomes for children and young people with SEND. You'll be confident managing complex situations, using data to inform decisions, and building positive relationships with families and stakeholders.
You will have:
- Experience of working in SEND within a local authority, education, health or related setting.
- Experience of leading and developing teams to deliver excellent services.
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, including the Children and Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice.
- Experience of statutory assessment and Education, Health and Care (EHC) processes.
- Excellent communication, partnership-working and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to analyse information, solve problems and drive service improvement.
- A commitment to delivering child-centred, inclusive services that achieve positive outcomes for children, young people and families.
