Job Overview
Riverside Care Home, Burton on Trent, DE15 9AP are seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support our team. The successful candidate will play a part in ensuring smooth kitchen operations within the Care Home. Working 8am to 5.30pm , 3 to 4 days a week.
Duties
- Assist with meal preparation
- Support the cleaning and organisation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to ensure hygiene standards are maintained
- Help with basic cooking tasks, including ingredient preparation
- Ensure all food safety protocols are followed
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure efficient kitchen operations
- Assist with washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and waste disposal to uphold cleanliness standards
Qualifications
- Prior experience in catering or food service is desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and meal preparation
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and hygiene standards is preferred
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently
- Strong communication skills
- Willingness to learn new skills related to kitchen operations
- Previous kitchen or culinary experience will be considered a plus
