Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced (from the stone industry) Polisher to join our team at our Southampton fabrication site. The successful candidate will be have experience polishing different finish stone surfaces (marble, travertine, onyx...) and ensure the highest quality standards in the production of bespoke stone products.
Key Responsibilities
- Polish and finish natural stone surfaces to a high standard, including marble, travertine, onyx, granite, and quartz.
- Carry out hand polishing and manual finishing where required.
- Perform edging, shaping, profiling, and other finishing work.
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency.
- Identify and correct imperfections in polished and finished surfaces.
- Maintain and clean polishing tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Keep the fabrication area clean, organised, and safe.
- Load, move, and handle stone slabs using appropriate lifting equipment.
- Work closely with the Fabrication Manager and wider production team to meet deadlines and production targets.
- Follow all company health & safety procedures and maintain high standards of workmanship.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Stone Polisher within the stone industry is essential.
- Strong experience polishing different stone surfaces, particularly marble, travertine, onyx, granite, quartz, and porcelain.
- Experience using stone polishing machinery and hand-polishing tools.
- Knowledge of different stone types and their characteristics.
- Experience with stone shaping and fabrication machinery.
- Ability to achieve consistent, high-quality polished finishes.
- Strong attention to detail and precision.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and handle heavy stone materials.
- Good understanding of workplace health & safety requirements.
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Desirable
- Counterbalance license.
- Overhead gantree crane license.
- Full UK driving licence.
Pay & Hours
- Rate: Very competitive (based on experience).
- Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–5:00 pm

Experience:
- quartz stone or marble cutting: 2 years (required)
