ABOUT THE ROLE
Operating at the highest levels of international motorsport, M-Sport UK delivers programmes across the FIA World Rally Championship, Rally-Raid, and a variety of global customer racing activities. We are looking to recruit a detail-focused and motivated Quality Inspector to join our Quality Control team at our Dovenby Hall headquarters.
This is an exciting opportunity for a detailed-focused quality professional to play a key role in ensuring components, assemblies and completed work meet M-Sport’s exacting quality standards. Working closely with Engineering, Production, Workshop, Stores and other departments, you will inspect parts and assemblies, identify non-conformances and support the continuous improvement of quality processes across the business.
The role responsibilities include:
- Quality Inspection: Inspect components, assemblies and completed work to ensure they meet specified drawings, tolerances and quality standards.
- Dimensional Inspection: Carry out accurate dimensional checks using appropriate inspection equipment and measuring tools.
- Quality Documentation: Maintain accurate inspection records, quality documentation and associated reports in accordance with company standards.
- Non-Conformance: Identify, record and communicate quality issues and non-conformances, supporting appropriate corrective actions.
- Technical Drawings: Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances and other technical documentation to ensure components meet requirements.
- Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Design, Production, Workshop, Stores and other departments to identify and resolve quality issues.
- First-Off & In-Process Inspection: Support first-off inspections and carry out in-process and final inspections where required.
- Supplier Quality: Assist with the inspection of incoming components and materials, identifying any issues and liaising with relevant departments as required.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve inspection processes, quality standards and working practices.
- Equipment & Calibration: Ensure inspection equipment is used correctly and report any issues with measuring equipment or calibration requirements.

Essential Criteria & Skills:
- Quality Inspection Experience: Previous experience in a quality inspection or quality control role within manufacturing, engineering, automotive or a similar environment.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with a methodical approach to inspection and quality control.
- Technical Drawings: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications and dimensional tolerances.
- Measuring Equipment: Experience using precision inspection and measurement equipment.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify the root cause of quality issues.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the confidence to communicate quality issues effectively across different departments.
- IT Literacy: Competent using Microsoft Office applications and quality management systems.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple departments whilst also working independently where required.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience using CMMs or other advanced inspection equipment.
- Knowledge of quality management systems.
- Relevant technical or engineering qualification.
