Clarity Homecare Boston are part of a national franchise. We pride ourselves on the training, support and career opportunities we offer our carers. We have a need for an additional field care supervisor to work alongside our existing office staff helping to support our team of carers covering the above areas and beyond.
The Field Care Supervisor role is a full-time position. It currently consists of 20 hours of paid office work and 20 hours of care delivery which will include early mornings, evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
Administration:
- Ensure that care staff are fully versed in all company paperwork and that this is completed accurately.
- Assist in ensuring all matters of Health and Safety are understood and implemented.
- Arrange and carry out Care Plan meetings with all new Service Users prior to commencement of care.
- Monitor and maintain Care Plan content and ensure regular reviews of the Service User’s care package.
Service Delivery:
- Assist in the assessment of the varying needs of each Service User, in consultation with the Care Manager, Service User, family, friends and professional bodies such as Social Services, GP’s, District Nurses and others where appropriate.
- Carry out regular spot checks on care staff and follow up with supervision meetings.
- Carry out relevant competencies of existing and new staff.
- Offer professional support to care staff.
- Work primarily within your dedicated area yet offer flexible coverage of other areas whenever requested to do so.
- Fully support the Care Co-Ordinator/Registered Manager in providing sufficient coverage of the rota, both in person and via allocation to others.
- Assist the Care Co-Ordinator with coverage of the On-Call responsibility, including holding the On-Call phone and weekly rota on a pre-agreed regular rotational basis.
- Whilst holding the on-call phone, the Field Care Supervisor must provide immediate cover for any reported absences. This includes evenings and weekends.
Communication:
- Maintain and complete all relevant company paperwork.
- Provide telephone/written feedback to Line Management to facilitate provision of quality and the well-being of Service Users.
- Assist in ensuring care staff observe company protocol when using any communication devices.
- Liaise with care staff on a regular basis in order to collate staff availability information and relay this to the Care Co-Ordinator.
- Liaise with the Registered Manager regarding recruitment/retention of staff.
- Communicate immediately any reports of suspected abuse to your Registered Manager.
Staff:
- Attend regular staff and line management meetings for the purpose of implementing and promoting team co-operation throughout the company.
- Mentor new staff in the field and offer support and further practical training if required.
- Actively observe and evaluate members of your team, incorporating spot checks and supervisions.
Quality standards:
- Assist in quality audit visits and telephone audits and forward all completed audit paperwork to the Registered Manager. Inform the Registered Manager immediately if any complaints/concerns are highlighted.
- Report any identified training needs arising from Spot Checks and Supervision meetings to the Registered Manager.
Training:
- Attend induction training and any future training sessions as may be required for the purpose of improving service provision and any statutory requirements.
- Work towards a suitably recognised qualification.
- Become fully conversant with all company policies in order to give support to new and experienced staff.
- Monitor care staff in completing their timesheets and carry out re-training where and when necessary.
- Take on an active role in the observation of your team.
- Carry out any other duties as requested by the Registered Manager, along with any tasks which may arise on a day-to-day basis that may fall within your remit as Field care supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Supervising experience with the ability to work with a diverse team effectively.
- A valid full driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
- The right to work in the UK
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a community care assistant
- Ideally experience as a field care supervisor in the care sector
- Proven ability to lead by example, support staff, and promote a high-quality service
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
- Knowledge of care regulations, safeguarding, and outcome-focused approaches
- Comfortable using digital care systems
- Hold a valid UK driving license
