Housekeeping Supervisor
Location: Darlington
Hours: 28 hours per week (Including weekends)
Salary: £13.15 per hour
“Our success is dependent on every single individual in our team.”
At Rockliffe, exceptional standards are at the heart of the guest experience. From beautifully presented bedrooms to immaculate public areas, our Housekeeping team plays a vital role in creating the luxury experience our guests and members expect.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team and help us consistently deliver the exceptional standards associated with a 5 Star resort.
This is a hands-on supervisory role, perfect for someone who has a genuine eye for detail, takes pride in exceptional standards and, importantly, enjoys bringing out the best in others.
Working closely with our Executive Housekeeper and Deputy Housekeeper, you'll help lead the day-to-day operation, support and develop the team and ensure every bedroom and guest area is presented beautifully.
What will you be doing?
No two days in Housekeeping are quite the same. As Housekeeping Supervisor, you'll help coordinate the daily operation while remaining visible and hands-on with the team.
You'll:
-
Support the Executive Housekeeper and Deputy Housekeeper with the smooth running of the Housekeeping department and deputise when required.
-
Coordinate daily room allocations and responsibilities, ensuring the team understands the day's priorities, guest requirements and special requests.
-
Inspect bedrooms and public areas, ensuring our exacting cleanliness and presentation standards are consistently achieved.
-
Lead from the front, supporting the team with cleaning bedrooms and public areas when required.
-
Set clear daily objectives and provide direction, encouragement and support throughout the shift.
-
Coach and train team members on the job, celebrating great performance and addressing areas where additional support is needed.
-
Ensure VIP arrivals, special occasions and individual guest requests are communicated and prepared to the required standard.
-
Work closely with Reception and other departments to coordinate guest arrivals, departures and room priorities.
-
Identify and report maintenance issues promptly and follow through to ensure they are addressed.
-
Manage guest requests and concerns professionally, taking ownership and finding appropriate solutions.
-
Monitor housekeeping stock and supplies, helping to minimise waste and control costs without compromising quality.
-
Ensure lost property is handled, recorded and stored correctly.
-
Support laundry operations and ensure all guest property is treated with the utmost care and discretion.
-
Ensure health & safety, hygiene, security and data protection procedures are followed at all times.
About you
We're looking for someone who understands that exceptional housekeeping isn't simply about cleanliness, it's about consistency, detail and pride.
You'll ideally have previous experience within Housekeeping, with supervisory or team-leading experience within a luxury hotel or resort environment being an advantage.
Most importantly, you'll be someone who:
-
Has an exceptional eye for detail and takes pride in delivering the highest standards.
-
Leads by example and isn't afraid to be hands-on alongside the team.
-
Enjoys developing people through coaching, encouragement and constructive feedback.
-
Can organise and prioritise a busy workload while remaining calm under pressure.
-
Communicates confidently and professionally with guests, colleagues and managers.
-
Understands the importance of discretion and confidentiality within a luxury environment.
-
Has strong time-management and organisational skills.
-
Is commercially aware and understands the importance of controlling stock, reducing waste and working efficiently.
-
Takes ownership of problems and follows them through to resolution.
-
Understands how every detail contributes to the overall guest experience.
For us, it's the room that feels perfect before the guest can identify why.
It's noticing the fingerprint on a mirror that somebody else has missed. Recognising that a guest has requested something different and making sure it's ready before they arrive. Spotting a maintenance issue and taking ownership of getting it resolved.
And, as a Supervisor, it's also about people.
It's setting your team up for a successful shift, being clear about expectations, recognising excellent work and stepping in to help when things get busy.
You'll be responsible for helping us maintain our standards, but you'll also play an important part in creating a team that takes genuine pride in achieving them.
If you're an experienced Housekeeping professional who loves high standards, enjoys developing others and wants to play an important role in delivering an exceptional 5 Star guest experience, we'd love to hear from you.
Join the Rockliffe team and help us make every detail count.
