North Yorkshire Council is proud to invest in prevention-focused services that support people to live independently, stay connected, and improve their wellbeing. As part of this commitment, we are expanding our Living Well team and are looking for a passionate, empathetic individual to join us as a Living Well Coordinator.
About the Role

- Support people to access their local community
- Promote small but meaningful changes that improve health, wellbeing, and independence
- Provide advice and support relating to finances, bereavement, employment and housing
You will help people build confidence, connect with local groups and services, and access high-quality advice and information. You will also work closely with internal teams such as Public Health and Localities Teams, and external partners including NHS colleagues, Voluntary and Community Sector organisations, and District Councils. The role will be based in Scarborough, but there would be a requirement to assist at times with supporting our neighbouring teams Countywide.

- Experience of working with vulnerable adults in the community, providing support, guidance and appropriate signposting to services.
- Ability to work sensitively and professionally in challenging or emotionally difficult situations, demonstrating empathy, compassion and understanding at all times.
- Experience within health, social care or information and advice settings, involving direct contact with individuals, families and carers, whether in a paid or voluntary role.

- Be part of a forward-thinking council committed to prevention and wellbeing
- Work in a supportive, values-driven team
- Enjoy opportunities for professional development and career progression
- The opportunity to develop knowledge, experience and skills with a leading care provider
- A programme of professional support, supervision and training
