Network 2 Supplies is an innovative, growing company providing solutions that deal with end-of-life technology equipment securely and sustainably. We offer end to end Professional IT Lifecycle Services across the breadth of our clients' IT estates.
As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced and qualified Health & Safety professional to provide support to our site in Huthwaite. This site is involved in the sorting and dismantling of various IT equipment as well as the granulation of cables and component parts.
Reporting to the Site General Manager and working collaboratively with the Group H&S and Facilities Manager this is a hands-on role where you will champion a positive safety culture, ensure compliance with legislation, and support operational excellence. You will work closely with all employees across the site to embed health and safety into everyday activities while driving continuous improvement and best practice.
Key Responsibilities
In collaboration with the Group H&S and Facilities Manager you will;
· Develop, review, and maintain H&S policies, procedures, and ISO certification standards.
· Produce and update risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs).
· Conduct regular site inspections and produce improvement action plans
· Investigate accidents, incidents and near-misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
· Deliver engaging toolbox talks and Health & Safety briefings.
· In the absence of the Group H&S and Facilities Manager, lead monthly/quarterly Health & Safety meetings.
· Ensure the requirements of company ISO certifications are upheld and maintained
· Coach and support managers with their Health & Safety responsibilities.
· Promote positive Health & Safety behaviours throughout the business.
· Ensure statutory inspections and compliance requirements are completed.
· Carrying out risk assessments, audits, inspections and compliance reviews
· Support managers and supervisors to improve safety awareness and accountability
· Manage contractor safety, RAMS reviews and permit-to-work systems
· Monitor KPIs and reporting performance to senior management
· Organise regular Health Surveillance monitoring and random D&A testing
· Drive employee engagement and promoting a positive health and safety culture
· Support operational projects and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure compliance with all relevant UK health and safety legislation
· Maintain emergency response procedures, including fire safety, COSHH management, and evacuation plans.
· Prepare reports, maintain records, and present health and safety performance data to senior leadership.
· Advise managers and staff on H&S compliance and best practice
Skills & Experience
· Qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field. Relevant certifications are highly desirable (NEBOSH/IOSH) along with a good understanding of COSHH requirements and RIDDOR compliance.
· Proven experience as a Health and Safety Representative/Lead/Manager or similar role, preferably in a similar industry
· Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, laws, policies, procedures, and standards.
· Excellent understanding of risk assessment methodologies and the ability to implement appropriate control measures.
· Experience in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and developing corrective action plans.
. Experience of running regular health surveillance programmes.
· Ability to develop and deliver effective training programs and materials.
· Proficient in using relevant software applications and tools for health and safety management
We are looking for someone who will work 15-20 hours a week - days of work to be discussed. The salary quoted will be pro-rated to actual hours worked.
