Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling materials, managing stock, and ensuring the smooth operation of warehouse activities. Responsibilities
- Handling materials efficiently, including picking, packing, and stock replenishment
- Operating forklift trucks and other warehouse machinery safely and effectively
- Managing shipping and receiving processes to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods
- Utilising warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and update records accurately
- Organising stock storage areas to optimise space utilisation and accessibility
- Conducting quality control checks on incoming and outgoing products
- Assisting with mechanical maintenance or troubleshooting equipment when necessary
- Ensuring health and safety standards are adhered to at all times during daily operations
- Supporting the loading and unloading of goods from lorries or containers
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is highly desirable
- Familiarity with materials handling equipment such as forklifts is preferred; relevant training can be provided if necessary
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) is advantageous but not essential
- Experience in shipping & receiving procedures, stock control, or picking & packing roles will be beneficial
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with warehouse machinery is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in stock management tasks
