Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Horse Groom full or part time to join our team at Old Buckenham. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily care and maintenance of horses, ensuring their health and well-being. This role requires a strong understanding of animal care, as well as the ability to perform various maintenance tasks around the stables and grounds.
Duties
- Provide daily grooming, feeding, and watering of horses
- Maintain cleanliness of stables and surrounding areas
- Assist with the exercise and training of horses as needed
- Perform basic veterinary care under supervision, including administering medications
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facilities to ensure safety and functionality
- Use hand tools and power tools for maintenance tasks, including minor repairs on equipment
- Lift heavy items such as feed bags or equipment as required
- Keep accurate records of horse care routines, feeding schedules, and any health concerns
Experience
- Previous experience in animal care, particularly with horses, is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge for equipment repair will be beneficial
- Ability to work effectively with hand tools and power tools for maintenance tasks
- Assist with rehabilitation programs, working closely with our equine team
- Maintain a clean and safe stable environment, adhering to sanctuary protocol

Full or part time will be considered , hours of work 7.30am to 4.00pm in Winter Season and finish at 5.00pm in Summer Season. Working alternate weekends is a must.
