Abingdon & Witney College is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Health & Social Care Lecturer to teach and support learners on our Level 1 and Level 2 Health & Social Care programmes.

Plan, deliver and assess high-quality Health & Social Care lessons.

What We're Looking For
Essential Requirements

Be passionate about Health & Social Care.
- Hold a degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
- Hold a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one.
- Have experience teaching within the Health & Social Care curriculum.
- Demonstrate excellent teaching and communication skills.
- Have the ability to engage and support diverse groups of learners.
- Be committed to safeguarding, learner success and inclusive practice.
- Hold Level 2 qualifications (or equivalent) in English and Maths, or be willing to achieve them.
Desirable

Assessor or Verifier qualification.
- Experience teaching in a post-16 education setting.
- Strong links with employers within the Health & Social Care sector.

Any successful candidates will be required to complete a structured training pathway, unless they already hold the relevant qualifications. This includes a two-week teacher induction (must be completed within probation), followed by the Award in Education and Training (AET) including Assessor is required, and then the Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher (LST) apprenticeship. Completion of this structured learning programme is expected within 3 years. Furthermore, there is the option to pursue Qualified Teacher Learning Status (QTLS).
