S.H.Goss & Co. Ltd are looking for Grounds Maintenance Operatives to join our growing team undertaking vegetation management and Public Rights of Way maintenance works across Hertfordshire and surrounding areas.
If you enjoy working outdoors, keeping active, and taking pride in maintaining the countryside for local communities, this could be the role for you.
The Role
You will be responsible for maintaining Public Rights of Way, footpaths, bridleways and countryside access routes using a range of equipment including:
- Brushcutters and strimmers
- Pedestrian mowing equipment
- Hedge trimmers and hand tools
- Other grounds maintenance equipment as required
Work will involve walking significant distances each day whilst carrying out vegetation cutting and maintenance activities.
We Are Looking For:
- Previous grounds maintenance, landscaping, agricultural or outdoor working experience preferred
- Experience using powered grounds maintenance machinery
- Ability to work safely and efficiently with minimal supervision
- Good level of physical fitness
- Ability to read and follow maps and route plans
- Awareness of Health & Safety requirements
- Full UK driving licence essential
- Brushcutter certification or PA1/PA6 spraying qualifications would be advantageous but not essential

Our depot is based in High Ongar, Essex, however this is primarily a mobile role covering Hertfordshire and surrounding counties.
