Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Dog Groomer to join our professional pet care team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for animal welfare, exceptional grooming skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service. This role involves grooming a variety of dog breeds, ensuring each pet’s comfort and safety while maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation. The Senior Dog Groomer will also mentor junior staff and contribute to the overall success of our grooming salon.
Responsibilities
- Perform grooming services including bathing, trimming, styling, and finishing for a diverse range of dog breeds in accordance with client specifications.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of each animal throughout the grooming process, adhering to best practices in animal care.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of grooming equipment and work areas to uphold hygiene standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding grooming needs and aftercare advice.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior groomers, sharing expertise to enhance team skills and performance.
- Manage appointment schedules efficiently to optimise workflow and minimise wait times for clients.
- Handle heavy lifting when necessary, such as lifting large or heavy dogs safely during grooming procedures.
Experience
- Proven experience as a professional dog groomer, with a strong portfolio demonstrating diverse grooming styles.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling larger dogs or equipment.
- Prior experience mentoring or supervising junior staff is advantageous but not essential.
