About the Role
We are a growing electrical wholesale business looking for a reliable and motivated Electrical Wholesale Trade Counter & Sales Assistant to join our team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who already has experience in electrical wholesale, electrical supplies, trade counter sales, electrical contracting, or a similar trade environment.
You do not need to know everything from day one, but you must have some relevant electrical industry or trade counter experience that we can build on.
You will be dealing with electricians, contractors, trade customers and suppliers on a daily basis, helping with customer enquiries, sales orders, quotations, stock checks, collections and general branch duties.
This is not a general retail role. We are looking for someone who understands, or has started to understand, the electrical trade.

Builders merchant, plumbing merchant or similar trade environment with strong product/customer experience
Main Duties
Serving electricians, contractors and trade customers at the counter
Handling customer enquiries face to face, over the phone and by email
Processing sales orders, quotations, payments and customer collections
Checking stock availability and offering suitable alternatives
Preparing customer orders accurately for collection or delivery
Helping customers with electrical product enquiries
Following up quotes and customer enquiries
Building good relationships with regular trade customers
Supporting repeat business and local trade sales
Helping with goods in, goods out, returns and stock control
Keeping the trade counter and warehouse clean, organised and professional
Using computer systems to process orders, invoices and stock checks
Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the branch
Helping with local deliveries or supplier collections when required
What We Are Looking For
Some electrical wholesale, electrical supplies or electrical trade experience is required
Good basic electrical product knowledge is preferred
Trade counter or internal sales experience would be a strong advantage
Confident speaking to electricians, contractors and trade customers
Reliable, punctual and hardworking
Willing to learn and develop product knowledge
Organised and able to follow tasks through properly
Comfortable using computers and order systems
Good attention to detail when processing orders and checking stock
Positive attitude and willing to get involved in different areas of the business
Able to work independently once trained
A full UK driving licence is preferred, as the role may involve occasional local deliveries, supplier collections or customer visits
