We're looking for a practical, reliable and hardworking individual to join our small, friendly team on a poultry farm.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining poultry husbandry, general farm maintenance and seasonal outdoor work. No two days are the same, so we're looking for someone who enjoys practical work, can turn their hand to different tasks and takes pride in doing a job well.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Daily bird welfare and poultry husbandry.
- Monitoring bird health and maintaining high welfare standards.
- General maintenance, repairs and upkeep around the farm.
- Using hand and power tools safely and confidently.
- Seasonal range maintenance and managing the birds' access to the range.
- Identifying problems and resolving them quickly.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety and biosecurity.
The role is a mix of indoor and outdoor work depending on the season. Poultry welfare is the priority every day, while outdoor maintenance varies throughout the year.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has practical maintenance or repair experience.
- Is confident using hand and power tools.
- Has a positive attitude and is willing to learn.
- Doesn't mind getting their hands dirty in a farming environment.
- Has excellent attention to detail.
- Is reliable, responsible and takes pride in their work.
Can work well as part of a team but is equally capable of working independently.
Is flexible with working hours, as farming operates 7 days a week and the rota will include some weekend working.
Previous poultry or farming experience is welcome but isn't essential. We'll provide training for the right person with the right attitude.
