HGV Grab Driver
Location: East Kilbride
Hours: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 16:30
Annual Leave: 31 days per annum.

Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced HGV Grab Driver to join our team based out of East Kilbride.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating an HGV grab lorry safely and efficiently, supporting our civil engineering teams with the delivery, collection and movement of materials to and from sites.
This is a key role within the business, helping ensure our projects are completed safely, on time and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Operate a HGV grab lorry safely, efficiently and professionally.
Transport materials, aggregates, spoil and equipment to and from project sites.
Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance requirements.
Ensure all loads are secure and transported in line with legal and company requirements.
Operate the grab safely during loading and unloading activities.
Maintain accurate delivery records, vehicle logs and required paperwork.
Work closely with site teams, supervisors and management to coordinate deliveries.
Comply with all road traffic laws, health and safety requirements and company procedures.
Represent Stepford Contracts professionally when dealing with clients, site teams and members of the public.
Essential Requirements
Valid HGV licence, Category C.
Valid Driver CPC.
Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
Previous experience operating grab lorries.
Good knowledge of road safety, driver hours and vehicle compliance.
Ability to carry out daily vehicle checks and basic defect reporting.
Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
Desirable Requirements
Experience working within civil engineering, construction, utilities or highways.
Knowledge of local authority and principal contractor site environments.
NPORS, CPCS or ALLMI grab/crane operator certification would be advantageous.
